CHICAGO -- Hector Noesi made the request and eventually got the result he wanted from Moises Sierra. That was a win for the Chicago White Sox. Noesis search for a victory continues. Sierra drove in the winning run with a single in the ninth inning, and the White Sox beat the Cleveland Indians 3-2 Wednesday night to complete a three-game sweep. "I think it was in the sixth inning I told him, Youve got to do something for me," Noesi said. "He did it in the last inning." Noesi and Clevelands T.J. House each delivered dominant starts. The Indians Jason Giambi hit his 440th homer, but the White Sox came away with their seventh win in 10 games. Cleveland had just scored a run in the top of the ninth off Ronald Belisario (3-3) when the White Sox answered in the bottom half against Bryan Shaw (1-1). Third baseman Mike Aviles bounced the throw to first on Tyler Flowers leadoff grounder. Pinch-runner Leury Garcia stole second and moved up on a fly by Marcus Semien before Sierra lined a 3-2 pitch to right for the winning single, teammates mobbing him around first base. "Ive done that in the minor leagues before," Sierra said. "But never in the major leagues and Im very happy and very thankful for that." It all happened after a botched throw on a routine play. "Routine ground ball, play thats gotta be made, and I didnt make it," Aviles said. The White Sox took a 2-1 lead in the eighth when Adam Dunn drove in Gordon Beckham with a bases-loaded sacrifice fly against Cody Allen, but Belisario couldnt hold it in the ninth. Michael Brantley drove a leadoff single off the pitchers right hip, and the problems just mounted from there. The Indians caught a break when Adam Dunn overthrew second after fielding Jason Kipnis grounder to first. With two out, Belisario intentionally walked Giambi before Brantley scored on Yan Gomes single, barely sliding in ahead of a strike from Sierra in right to tie it at 2-all. The blown save was the third in six chances for Belisario. The Indians took a 1-0 lead on Giambis solo homer off Noesi in the second. But Chicago tied it in the seventh when Dunn singled leading off against House and scored on a two-out base hit by Semien against Scott Atchison. Noesi, meanwhile, dominated over 7 1-3 innings but still is seeking his first win in more than two years. "Hes really transitioned well from going as the long guy in the bullpen to being a starter," manager Robin Ventura said. "I think hes gotten a better feel for some different pitches just because now hes going through the lineup a couple times and hes able to get a feel for it instead of being in there for an inning or an inning and a half." He gave up one run and five hits while striking out five without a walk. But the winless streak continued. The right-hander is 0-4 in six starts and 12 appearances this season with Seattle, Texas and Chicago and 0-14 in his last 40 games. His most recent win? That was when he beat Minnesota while with Seattle on May 6, 2012. House gave up one run and five hits in 6 1-3 innings and struck out eight while walking one. He left with a 1-0 lead after giving up back-to-back singles to Dunn and Alexei Ramirez, who was thrown out trying to stretch it to a double. "On a night that were going home pretty frustrated that was about an encouraging a start as youll see," manager Terry Francona said. "He was really good." NOTES: The White Sox have not decided if slugger Jose Abreu (left ankle tendinitis) will need rehab at-bats, although he is on course to return from the disabled list when hes eligible. "As of right now, there is not a plan for him to go out," Ventura said. He doesnt expect Abreu to be limited when he returns. ... Francona said RHP Zach McAllister (lower back strain) will throw Friday on the field at Progressive Field, possibly in a simulated-game setting. McAllister was placed on the 15-day disabled list last Thursday and threw a 50-pitch bullpen session Monday. . Francona said INF Nick Swisher (left knee) was examined and "structurally, hes pretty good" and had injections in both knees. "I think that the initial view is that it wont be an extended DL," Francona said. ... With Kipnis activated from the 15-day disabled list, INF Justin Sellers was optioned to Triple-A Columbus. The senior running backs legs produced the go-ahead score in a win that put the fifth-ranked Tigers in the SEC championship game. "Those guys were 5 yards away from me before I could even get close to them," Josey said of his breakaway 57-yard run that helped Missouri wrap up the SEC East with a 28-21 victory over No. 19 Texas A&M on Saturday night. "A big hole opened up and I took it." Missouri (11-1, 7-1 SEC) advances to the conference championship game against Auburn -- a matchup of schools very lightly regarded before the season. Missouri has made a six-win improvement from its initial SEC season and fourth-ranked Auburn (11-1, 7-1) has topped last years total by eight after stunning No. 1 Alabama. "This tells everybody in the whole United States that Mizzous the real deal," said wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, who caught seven passes for 93 yards and a touchdown. "Last year was just last year. "Its not about that, its just about what were capable of doing and what were going to do and how we did it." Missouri beat its fourth ranked opponent and reached 11 wins for the third time in school history, twice under Pinkel. Another win matches the school record set in 2007. Texas A&Ms Johnny Manziel was held in check for the second straight week, throwing one touchdown pass and rushing for 21 yards on 11 carries. He was 24 for 35 for 195 yards. "In the second half, we all calmed down and we communicated," linebacker Kentrell Brothers said. "We were all on the same page and got it done." Coach Kevin Sumlin didnt make Manziel available for the post-game. Reports have indicated Manziel, a redshirt sophomore, is close to making a decision whether to enter the NFL draft next April. "Hes had better performances, hes had worse performances," Sumlin said. "Theres pressure on him to perform at a high level all the time." Sumlin discounted a report Manziiel, also held to one TD pass last week in a loss at LSU, has been hampered by a thumb injury "If he wasnt healthy enough to play, he wouldnt have played," Sumlin said.dddddddddddd The Aggies (8-4, 4-4) have lost consecutive games for the first time under coach Kevin Sumlin, who the school said earlier in the day agreed in principle on a new six-year contract that could keep him on the job through 2019. Hes 19-6. Thousands of fans among a sellout crowd of 62,197 -- nearly all of them clad in black, stormed the field after the game ended. The field wasnt cleared for at least 20 minutes. Missouri had been 11-44 under Pinkel when trailing at the half. Pinkel has 101 wins in 13 seasons at Missouri, tied for Don Faurot for most in school history. Texas A&M has one of the worst defences against the run in the nation, allowing 221 yards per game. Missouri totalled 225 yards with a 5.1-yard average, but until Joseys breakaway run, the Aggies had done a nice job Starting from its 34, Missouris decisive string began innocently with a 4-yard carry by Josey and a 5-yard carry by quarterback James Franklin. Josey busted free up the middle on third-and-1. "What a great play," coach Gary Pinkel said. "What a great kid." Texas A&M never threatened the rest of the game and has lost four of the last five in the series. The exception was a showcase for Manziel, who threw for three touchdowns and ran for two scores in a 59-29 rout last year that was a 35-point rout by halftime. Tra Carson broke two tackles on a 31-yard scoring run that was also the first touchdown allowed by Missouri in the first quarter in six games. Derel Walkers 32-yard reception made it 14-7 late in the half. Walkers score came just 1:10 after Franklins 38-yard touchdown pass to LDamian Washington. Manziel rolled out to buy time and Michael Sam tackled him a beat too late. Early in the second quarter, Missouri failed to capitalize on a lost fumble by punt returner DeVante Harris at the A&M 36. Backup Maty Mauk got his usual early series at quarterback and Missouri lost a yard on three plays before punting.
